In Bangladesh, BOI conducted the first actual FDI survey during 2002 and officially disseminated the Survey findings, which was eventually incorporated in the World Investment Report 2003 in a Text Box (WIR200: page 51). Registration is official approval of expression of investment intent by the investor. During registration, entrepreneur submits investment proposal to BOI to be implemented in a specified period. Thus registration means investment commitment by the intending investor, not actual investment.
